Fayiz Suyyagh, from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, won the "Sheikh Zayed Book Award" for his remarkable and distinguished translation into Arabic of Anthony Giddens's "Sociology". In this translation, Dr. Suyyagh has demonstrated the highest possible measure of integrity, faithfulness in delivering the original text in elegant style, state-of-the-art proficiency and terminological precision, with full acknowledgement and recognition of intellectual copyrights. As such, his translation of this important contemporary landmark work, represents a significant addition to the Arab cultural scene, rendered in a manner which is, at once, manageable and accessible to both scholars and students. |
